{"id":12858,"date":"2026-10-02T02:24:26","date_gmt":"2026-10-02T02:24:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.jwjphotoblog.com\/?p=12858"},"modified":"2026-10-02T02:24:26","modified_gmt":"2026-10-02T02:24:26","slug":"pine-ridge-apartment-building-fire-2006-0319","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jwjphotoblog.com\/?p=12858","title":{"rendered":"Pine Ridge Apartment Building Fire 2006-0319"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>This was quite the fire and the call came in as several people trapped in their apartments&#8230;Franklin County had six deputies in Sullivan, they had just finished eating breakfast at the Flying J Restaurant, they heard the call and responded, arriving prior to Sullivan Firefighters, and were able to break into a few apartments and rescue the residents trapped inside.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>I drove Ladder Truck 812 to the scene, was directed into the apartment building parking lot, parking parallel to the main building, was hooked up to a hydrant nearby pretty fast, and then raised the ladder. Command requested that I sweep the nozzle back and forth to attack the roof fire, so I handled that on my own with the remote control until Nolan Crawford approached me and volunteered to climb the ladder and work the nozzle. I said sure, just stay in touch with me on the voice box up there and he began climbing up the ladder.
