Sometimes the Farmers Almanac is right and sometimes, Thank God, it`s not…the second week of January 2020, it got things right most of the week. I bet my buddy Brian Beckett tho, is glad that it doesn`t predict mishaps like folks driving through his garage doors at both of his Express Care Valvoline businesses. I was doing some computer work at my desk the morning of January 3rd when I heard police dispatched to a report of a car running into his business on the South Service Road, so I grabbed my camera and drove down there, to find that a car had pulled into the first bay from the back and instead of stopping, the driver stepped on the gas pedal instead of the brake, clipped the technician as he was diving out of the way, and then went right through the front garage door…when I got there, MOBAP Ambulance personnel were on scene with Sullivan PD and Sullivan Fire Department was responding…<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Thankfully, no one was seriously hurt and the techs were busy cleaning up the damage, ems checked out the tech clipped by the car and the driver of the car, and as Brian stated later, doors can be replaced and insurance takes care of it….<\/p>\n

Poor Brian tho…the same day at about the same time, at his business in Rolla, another vehicle did nearly the same thing up there. I feel for ya buddy.<\/p>\n

One week later, we had ice and snow on the 10th of January, resulting in a few accidents, one reported as a rollover in the median in front of Du Kum Inn, shot this one from the parking lot next to the Zephyr station….<\/p>\n

MOBAP Ambulance arrived to find no injuries, disregarded Sullivan Fire Department, who was responding to the call. I shot this video of the sleet coming down afterwards….<\/p>\n

Fire and EMS soon after, were then dispatched to another MVA in the eastbound lanes of I-44 at Stanton, which was also a non-injury accident and both agencies were soon disregarded…I shot photos of the snow coming down as I drove back to Sullivan from Stanton, flakes coming down were big as your hands….<\/p>\n
